Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce NOX in exhaust gas, by a method wherein secondary com bustion air is discharged in a furnace to generate a swirl flow, and reducing gas generated from a dry zone and combustion exhaust gas generated from a combustion zone are mixed together. CONSTITUTION:In an incinerator 1, a dry zone 2, a first combustion zone 3, a second combustion zone 4, and after-combustion zone 5 are formed, in order named, to a furnace bottom part, and primary combustion air is fed from the furnace bottom part. Primary combustion air fed from the furnace bottom part is throttled at the dry zone 2, and reducing gas is generated from the dry zone 2. Secondary combustion air 7 is obliquely discharged so as to generate a swirl flow. As noted above, since reducing gas generated from the dry zone is brought into efficient contact with combustion gas generated from the combus tion zone, the coefficient of removal of NOX is improved. Since the efficiency of contact between reducing gas and combustion exhaust gas is improved, a secondary combustion area can be set to a low value.
