Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten whole print processing time, by a method where in the case where line feed is performed by a line feed amount equivalent to the vertical maximum number of dots to be printed at once, a dot pattern capable of being printed at once is synthesized in an output buffer based on code data of a character to be printed in an adjacent line. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a commanded line feed amount is detected by a detection means and the line feed amount is less than a line feed amount equivalent to the vertical maximum printing number of dots to be printed at once with a printing head, a dot pattern capable of being printed at once with the printing head is synthesized in an output buffer based on code data of a character to be printed in an adjacent line. Then, printing is performed simultaneously by one printing process following the synthesized dot pattern according to a dot pattern containing a part of the adjacent line. Since the number of dots in one line can be increased to the maximum pin count of the printing head therefore, the number of printings can be decreased and then, a printing speed can be increased.
