Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the life of a print head with equalized frequency of using dots by making the number thereof on the print head so larger than that of specified printing modules for the bar code label to have them shifted by one dot sequentially to one side in printing. CONSTITUTION:A larger number of dots are arranged on a print head of a line dot type bar code printing mechanism than that of specified printing modules for the bar code label to provide extra dots. The required number of dots for a bar code printing are taken from one end of the print head to perform a printing at an appropriate frequency. Then, all these required number of dots are shifted by one dot to one side and a printing is performed at a proper frequency. Subsequently, the dots are shifted by one dot in the same direction to perform a printing again. This action is repeated. When one end of the required number of dots reaches the other end thereof, they return to the initial position to print.
