Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to effect a high-speed printing with a simple mechanism by a method wherein two groups of dot groups consisting of vertical column are provided on a printing head in rows with a specified pitch and the printing is effected while the printing head is traversed with the specified pitch. CONSTITUTION:A printing head H is constituted by arranging two groups S, T of vertical column of dots consisting ''em'' type printing letters and a dot group of the same in two columns with a space two times of a printing dot pitch P. In case the ''em'' type printing letters are printed by utilizing this head H, a letter pattern signal is impressed to the first dot group S of the printing head H to print the second row upon the printing operation of the first row. Subsequently, the head H is moved to the right by a pitch two times of the dot pitch P and the first row is printed by the second dot group T while a fourth row is printed by the first dot group S. Operation of the same manner are repeated thereafter, and upon an operation of a proper cycle, the printing is not effected by the first group S, thereafter, the printing is shifted to the next digit.
