Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical characteristics, machinability and grindability of the titled steel by regulating the limiting compositional value of a steel. CONSTITUTION:The steel contg. 0.06-0.60% C, 0.01-0.50% Si, 0.30-2.0% Mn, <=5% Ni, <=2% Cr, <=1% Mo, <=0.035% P and <=0.035% S, contg. one or more kinds between 0.05-0.3% Cu and <=0.015% Sn and furthermore contg. <=20ppm total of Al2O3 inclusions and TiN inclusions is prepd. If required, one or more kinds of groups formed by adding <=0.3% Pb, <=0.010% Ca, <=0.3% Bi, <=0.2% Te, etc., to said Cu and Sn are incorporated into the steel to regulate the components. By this method, the steel having excellent mechanical characteristics, machinability and grinding workability can be obtd.
