If required, one or more kinds of groups formed by adding <=0.3% Pb, <=0.010% Ca, <=0.3% Bi, <=0.2% Te, etc., to said Cu and Sn are incorporated into the steel to regulate the components. By this method, the steel having excellent mechanical characteristics, machinability and grinding workability can be obtd.
