Abstract
PURPOSE:To simply obtain the titled compound useful in synthesis of silver halide photosensitive material, by reacting 3,3-dithioacrylonitriles which is readily available with corresponding aryloxide anion. CONSTITUTION:Compounds expressed by formula I (R2 is alkyl or aryl; X is H or substituent group) is reacted with the corresponding aryloxide anion (preferably alkali metal aryloxide) to provide the 3,3-diaryloxyacrylonitriles expressed by formula II (R1 is aryl). The aimed product can be synthesized without using thermal reaction requiring high temperature or a compound difficult in acquisition or synthesis of starting raw material. Alkyl group of R2 in the formula I is preferably alkyl having an electron-attracting group and aryl group of the R2 is preferably aryl having an electron-attracting group.
