Abstract

PURPOSE:To make stable dimming by furnishing a charging circuit consisting of a resistance and a capacitor, comparing a charge/discharge signal therefrom with a setting signal as reference for dimming, produce a dimming signal, and giving input to the inverter with this dimming signal and an inverter oscillation signal put in synchronization. CONSTITUTION:Output sides of comparators 14, 15 are connected to reset/set terminal of D-type FF 17, and the Q output of this FF 17 and a dimming basic signal are together fed in an AND circuit 18. These FF 17 and AND circuit 18 constitute a driver circuit 19 to drive a transistor Q1 as a switching element for charging/discharging of a capacitor C1, and the base current for transistor Q1 is given by the AND circuit 18. The charge/discharge signal is given to a neg. input terminal of a third comparator 20, while the pos. input terminal thereof is fed with a dimming setting signal. A constant current power supply is formed from a mirror circuit consisting of resistances R6, R7, R8 and transistors Q2, Q3, and its voltage is changed by a variable resistor VR1 to yield a dimming setting signal, and a capacitor C2 is connected in parallel with this variable resistor VR1.
