Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recorder suitable for reducing a pseudo outline induced by color mixture, by a method wherein the total amount of an ink jetted per dot is always kept constant by taking the increase of a reflected density with the increase of a solvent in color mixture into consideration. CONSTITUTION:An ink density selecting circuit 2 selects an ink density used for recording on the basis of reflected density signals Y, M, C sent from a masking circuit 1 and outputs the selection data and reflected density signals Y1, M1, C1. A density-discharge amount conversion circuit 3 conducts conversion to ink discharge amount signals VY, VM, VC for every color according to the reflected density signals Y1, M1, C1 sent from the ink density signal selecting circuit 2. In a colorless ink amount calculating circuit 4, a total ink discharge amount is calculated according to ink discharge amount data for every color sent from the density-discharge amount conversion circuit 3. If the total amount is less than a specified amount, the circuit 4 calculates a colorless ink discharge amount which should be replenished and outputs a colorless ink discharge amount signal Vcl.
