Abstract

PURPOSE:To make color on recording paper not different, by a method wherein reflection density in color mixture is corrected from information of total amount of ink to be discharged, information that any ink among a plurality of type of ink which are different in density and same in color has been used, and information on reflection density of ink. CONSTITUTION:Image data stored in R, G, B memories 11, 12, 13 become reflection density values C, M, Y with ROM 14, receive color correction with a mask ROM 15, and outputs C', M', Y' and a shading signal. The color corrected reflection density values C', Y' are respectively inputted to a OD value correction means 20 via OD-V, ROM 31, 33, and an adder 34. The OD value correction means 20 inputs the shading signal, the reflection density value M' of which the color is corrected, and an output signal of the adder 34. A correction value M'' is outputted from those information and the correction value M'' is converted to a voltage value. Thus, voltage values Vc, Vm, Vy are sent to a head driver 40, and ink is discharged by driving the head.
