Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a thermally sprayed tough-up part having excellent adhesive strength by applying an epoxy resin mixed with metal powder on a corroded part as a substrate material, and then coating the upper surface with a thermally sprayed metal at the time of repairing a metallic part corroded and eroded by water. CONSTITUTION:When the water-turbine runner, guide vane, etc., for hydraulic power generation are produced from a carbon steel, the contact of the steel with water and separation of the steel from water are frequently repeated, and the general corrosion 2 and pitting 3 are caused on the base material 1 of carbon steel. When the corroded part is repaired, the surface-layer part 4 in the corroded surface part 2 is leveled by a grinder, etc., as the pretreatment for thermal spraying. An epoxy resin contg. 50-70% powder of metal such as stainless steel is then filled in the deep corroded part due to pitting 3, the powder of at least one kind of metal among 13%-Cr steel, 18-8 stainless steel, stellite, etc., is thermally sprayed thereon to form a thermally sprayed coating layer 5, and the touch-up coating having excellent adhesion is applied.
