Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the extent of weld deformation and cracking by setting the welding between an upper spindle and a vaned root part of a guide vane down to partial groove weld, and specifying a undeposited part size in relation to vane plate pressure, in case of the guide vane which makes the water opening of a hydraulic turbine or the like. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic turbine or a reversible pump-turbine sets up plural guide vanes 1, opening or closing a water opening, in the inner part of a casing where a runner is housed. These guide vanes 1 are constituted each so as to be operated for opening or closing by a servomotor via linkage. In this case, welding of a root part between an upper spindle 2 and a vane 3 of the guide vane 1 is set down to partial groove well 5 with an undeposited part 4. And, when size of this undeposited part 4 is set to (t) in vane plate thickness as well as when an undeposited part allowable size is set to 2a, the ratio is limited to 2a/t. With this constitution, a welding amount is reduced, and weld deformation and cracking due to welding heat input are abated and, what is more, weldability is improved.
