Abstract

PURPOSE:To use a switch with small capacity and to turn on and off a high- voltage power source by connecting a rectifying element to the primary side of a high voltage transformer reversely in parallel and inserting and connecting a switching element in series with one rectifying element. CONSTITUTION:The rectifying element D is connected reversely in parallel on the primary side of the high-voltage transformer T and the contact point of a relay RY is inserted and connected in series with one circuit of the element D. A transistor TR is turned on and off with a control signal for corona discharge and when the base potential reaches a H level, the transistor turns on to excite the coil of the relay RY. The secondary side of the transformer T supplies a corotron 1 with a plus high voltage output rectified by a rectifying circuit RF or a corotron 2 with a minus high voltage output. Thus, the constitution wherein the switching means is inserted and connected in series to the primary winding side of the transformer T is employed, so a high-voltage switch and individual high voltage generating circuits are not necessary, so the circuit is simplified and the cost is reduced.
