Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Two segment dies 7 are prepared, the external peripheral part of the ring stock is surrounded by the segment dies 7 and preventing plates for width extension are fixed by bolts to the upper and lower surfaces of the segment dies 7. This ring stock is set and rolled between the rolling mill mandrel and the main roll. The ring stock protrudes fully into the recesses provided on the internal peripheral part of the segment dies to form protrusions in the external peripheral part of the ring stock. It is possible to form the ring article having an internal diameter and a wall thickness which are high in a dimensional accuracy and protrusions in the internal peripheral part, without cutting work and in a good yield.
