Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain soft capsule preventing reduction in disintegration with time even decrease in reactivity of gelatin and preventing insolubilization of gelatin for a long period of time even with contents with high reactivity, by prescribing pH and water content in specific ranges. CONSTITUTION:Soft capsule having pH <=5, prolonged drying time in manufacturing or raised drying temperature and <=9wt.% water content by adding an inorganic acid and/or an organic acid or using gelatin at low pH. Foam removal time in producing capsule is shortened, thermal deterioration at low pH can be prevented, insolubilization of gelatin prevented and strength deterioration of the capsule prevented by using a gelatin having >=20 BLUME jelly strength and <=35mp viscosity as the gelatin.
