Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously form a plated film having a stripe of constant width to the lower end of a band-shaped material by providing notches to the opposite positions of side walls of a plating tank and electrifying both the band-shaped material and an anode while running the band-shaped material through the notches provided to the plating tank in which the liquid level is controlled at fixed height by a liquid level regulating tank. CONSTITUTION:Notches 5 are oppositely formed to the central parts of both side walls 1c of a plating tank 1 and also two pieces of bags 10b made of cloth which enclose metallic blocks 10a for plating therein are hung in the plating tank as consumable anodes 10 and a band-shaped material B to be plated is run through the notches 5 as a cathode. In this case, plating liquid in a plating liquid level regulating tank 2 is fed via a punched board 13 bored with many small holes 13a through a feed port 11 and plating liquid is discharged at constant rate from a cut groove 8 and introduced into a plating tank 4 and circulated. Since the liquid level 12 of the plating liquid 9 in the plating tank 1 is not choppy and always held at fixed height, a plated film B' having a stripe of constant width can be continuously formed to the lower end of the band-shaped material B.
