Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the converting speed by taking a difference between an input analog signal and an output of a 1st DA converter by 1st differential amplifier and taking a difference between the input analog signal and the output of the 1st and 2nd D/A converters by the 2nd differential amplifier so as to decrease number of processes. CONSTITUTION:An output upsilon1 of a sample and hold circuit 1 is converted into a digital signal by an AD converter in a 1st step and its output is given to an error correction circuit 6. The digital signal converted in the 1st step is inputted to a DA converter 3 in a 2nd step and a current i3 proportional to the input is outputted. Then the digital signal converted in the 2nd step is given to a DA converter 12 in a 3rd step. Then the DA converter 12 outputs a current i4 proportional to the input. An error correction circuit 6 synthesizes the digital signals obtained in the 1st-3rd steps as high-order, medium and low-order bits respectively. Thus, the AD converter with fast conversion speed, excellent noise immunity and high resolution is formed.
