The sum of an analog signal converted at the DAC4 and an analog signal applied to a terminal 9 is compared with a zero potential at a comparator CM8, and 0 or 1 signal is transferred from a CM8 to the SAR2 depending on the amplitude. After a prescribed time elapses after the conversion of data in high-order l-bits at the SAR2, an operating signal is outputted from the CG1 to a correction circuit 5, where the error of output of the SAR2 is detected and corrected when the output of the CM8 goes to 1, and the SAR3 makes conversion of low-order l-bits for output.
