Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the component metal of a leadframe and connecting metallic fine wires to be connected directly and stably not through the intermediary of plated layers by a method wherein any oxide or rust preventing film on the surface of bonding areas is removed by previously irradiating the bonding areas with laser beams while the atmosphere in the connecting parts is specified to be reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Any oxide or rust preventing film on the surface of bonding areas 11b is removed by previously irradiating the bonding areas 11b of a leadframe 11 with laser beams 13 and then wire-bonded later, furthermore, the atmosphere in the connection parts during the laser irradiation process or bonding process is specified to be reducing atmosphere. Through these procedures, the surface metal in the bonding areas 11b can be exposed in acceptable state so that the bonding areas 11b and metallic fine wires 15 may be directly connected to one another not through the intermediary of plated layers.
