Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain higher transmittance, lower resistance and higher chemical stability by forming a transparent electrode layer to be provided to either of display electrodes or counter electrode into two-layered structure consisting of an ITO film and 'NESA(R)' film and positioning the 'NESA(R)' film to an electrolyte layer side. CONSTITUTION:An ITO film 2 is formed on a glass substrate 1 for display electrodes (working electrodes) and this ITO film 2 is coated by the NESA film 3; further, an electrochromic layer 4 is formed on the NESA film 3. The ITO film 2 and the NESA film 3 are also separately provided in the case of provided the electrochromic layer 4 separately to >=2 points and controlling the same separately. The transparent electrode layer is formed of the two- layered structure consisting of the ITO film 2 and the NESA film 3.
