Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable force measurement with good accuracy by holding single crystal oscillator in place between two sets of different electrodes and detecting the phase difference between the oscillation signals by these two oscillator parts. CONSTITUTION:The single quartz crystal plate 3 is divided on two regions; the one region A is sandwiched and covered by the discrete electrode 4 and part of the common electrode 6 and the other region B is sandwiched and covered by the discrete electrode 5 and part of the common electrode 6. The force from the outside is exerted to the region A. The electrodes 4-6 of these regions A, B are connected respectively to the oscillator 2 and the reference oscillator 1. The phase difference between the outputs of these oscillators 1 and 2 is detected by a phase detecting circuit 7 and the force from the outside is detected.
