Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an La-Ba-Cu-O type rhombic O2-deficient perovskite superconductor having superconductivity at >= the b.p. of liquid N2 by calcining a mixture of raw materials in a specified temp. range, and annealing then the calcined product at <= a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of raw materials (e.g. La2O3, BaO, CuO) containing each component in the proportion expressed by formula I (wherein 0.4<x<1.2), is allowed to react for several hours-several tens hours in O2-contg. atmosphere at a temp. within a range expressed by formula II [wherein Mtemp.( deg.C) is a m.p. of the mixture; Stemp.( deg.C) is calcination temp.], and calcined. After cooling and pulverizing the sintered body, the product is annealed at <=380 deg.C for several hours-several days in O2-contg. atmosphere. Thus, an oxide superconductor consisting of a compsn. expressed by formula III (wherein delta=0-15) is obtd.
