Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce in a short time the title oxide superconductor having stable superconductivity by cooling slowly a raw body of a superconductor contg. Y, Ba, Cu, etc., after the raw body is calcined thereby cooling in a specified temp. range alone at a slow cooling rate. CONSTITUTION:An oxide superconductor is obtd. by calcining a compression molded powder mixture contg. at least Y or a rare earth element, Ba or another alkaline earth element, and Cu. The superconductor is then cooled slowly at a first cooling rate(<=50 deg.C/hr) in a temp. range including the transition temp. from the tetragonal crystal form to rhombic crystal form(720-550 deg.C), then cooled at a second cooling rate larger than the first cooling rate.
