Abstract
PURPOSE:To proceed modification of a crystal efficiently and to improve characteristic of an oxide superconductor by holding a sintered body obtd. by heating powdery starting materials or a molded body of the starting materials within a temp. range where crystals of the sintered body cause modification from tetragonal crystal to rhombic crystal, for a specified time before executing cooling of the sintered body. CONSTITUTION:Powder of starting materials or a molded body of the powder contg. elements for constituting a superconductor is sintered by heating. The sintered body is held at a temp. within a temp. range where said sintered body causes modification from tetragonal crystal to rhombic crystal, for a specified time, thereafter the sintered body is cooled to room temp. By this method, sufficient time for modifying the sintered body from tetragonal crystal to rhombic crystal is secured.
