Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting composition capable of sintering a porcelain having small porosity at lower temperature, by using a Sr-Nd-Ni-Cu-O based material having a specific composition range as a component. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting material in the range satisfying the equations 0.3<=x<=0.85 and 0.01<=y<=0.30 in the oxide superconducting composition expressed by formula I. In an oxide superconducting material, especially conventional Ba-Y-Cu-O based material, the porosity of product obtained by calcining the material at 900 deg.C for 12min and sintering the calcined material at 1,000 deg.C is 20%. On the other hand, in the aimed superconducting composition expressed by formula II, extremely good ceramics having 6% porosity are obtained by calcining the composition at 850 deg.C for 12hr and sintering the calcined composition at 900 deg.C and confirmed as a superconductor having high critical temperature from measurement of conductivity. The aimed composition has high practicality as a superconducting material, because the composition provides a dense porcelain at low temperature, compared with a conventional material and exhibits high critical temperature.
