Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve heat efficiency of an existing power plant by additionally providing the Rankine cycle having a front gas turbine and the secondary boiler in the existing power plant. CONSTITUTION:A front gas turbine 13 provided on the front stage of a main boiler 1 which drives an existing first generator 6 drives a secondary generator 15. High temperature exhaust gas discharged from the front turbine 13 is supplied to the main boiler 1 to burn up fuel 2 with the large quantity of oxigen contained in said exhaust gas to drive a steam turbine 5 and the first generator 6. High temperature exhaust gas discharged from the main boiler 1 is supplied to the secondary boiler 16 to generate steam in the closed pipe passage 17 of the Rankine cycle to drive a steam turbine 18 and a third generator 19. If the power plant is constructed as abovementioned, fuel is consumed in the front gas turbine 13 but is remarkably reduced in the main boiler 1, and also heat energy is recovered at the secondary boiler 16 so that heat efficiency of the existing power plant can be generally improved.
