Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of generation by burning coal at a high temperature, heating the first working fluid of a magneto hydrodynamic generation cycle through directly using said coal-burning, and causing said fluid to circulate so as to drive said magneto hydrodynamic generation cycle and make said cycle generate electricity. CONSTITUTION:A generation system is equipped with a coil combustion furnace 1, a first working fluid heater 2 provided on the upstream side of an exhaust gas issuing from said furnace, a closed-cycle magneto hydrodynamic generator 3, a fluidized bed boiler 5 provided downstream of said exhaust gas and filled with a desulfurizing fluidized medium 4, and a steam turbine generator 7 where a second working fluid is heated via a heat exchanger tube 6. Then, the working fluid (rare gas) is heated to 1500 deg.C or more and a magneto hydrodynamic generation cycle is driven. Also, the temperature of the exhaust gas issuing from the heater 2 is 800 deg.C or more and said gas is introduced from the lower part of said fluidized bed boiler 5 to heat the second working fluid of the steam turbine generation cycle 7 via said heat exchanger tube 6 and drive said generation cycle.
