Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a rare earth-contg. permanent magnet having excellent magnet characteristics by discharging a molten alloy essentially consisting of B and molten alloy consisting of other compsn. from separate vessels and forming the molten alloys to a band or wire shape by a cooling base body, then subjecting the band or wire to a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:The molten alloy consisting of B, ferroboron or the B component added with slight rare earths, etc., and the molten alloy of the component A expressed by R-Fe, R-Fe-Co, R-Re-Co-M (R is the rare earth, M is at least one kind among Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Ti, Cr, and V) are discharged from the separate vessels. The two components are formed to the band or wire shape laminated on the cooling base body under movement. After the formed body cooled, the body is heat-treated to diffuse B into the layer of the component A to attain the uniformity in the compsn. while the crystal orientation of the component A is maintained. The permanent magnet consisting of Rx(Fe1-zCoz)100-x-y-wByMw is thereby obtd. In the formula, 5<=x<=20, 4<=y<=15, 0<=z<=0.7, 0<=w<=10.
