Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title shadow mask material with an improved etch- pitting property by hot-rolling an iron-based alloy contg. C, Si, Mn, P, S, O, N, and Ni in a specified ratio, and respectively specifying the draft in the final cold rolling and other cold rollings. CONSTITUTION:The iron-based alloy contg., by weight, <=0.015% C, 0.001-0.1% Si, 0.1-1.0% Mn, <=0.01% P, <=0.005% S, <=0.010% O, <=0.005% N, 35-37% Ni, and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities is hot-rolled. When the hot- rolled alloy is repeatedly cold-rolled and annealed, the cold rollings other than the final cold rolling is carried out at <=92% draft, and the final cold rolling is performed at 5-50% draft.
