Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having high superconductive critical temperature and excellent stability and useful for power transmission, microwave, etc., by baking a mixture of compounds of specific elements and sintering the baked material at a temperature below the melting point of the powder of the baked material. CONSTITUTION:Powder of fluoride, oxide or carbonate of Ba, Y and Cu, etc., having an average particle diameter of <=20mum are mixed with each other in such a manner as to include the fluoride of Ba, Y or Cu in the mixture. The mixture is prebaked at 700-1,000 deg.C, crushed and formed. The formed material is sintered at a temperature below the melting point (Tm) of the powder of the formed material and above Tm-100 deg.C. The sintered product is quenched to obtain an oxyfluoride superconducting material having an average crystal particle diameter of <=30mum and having a crystal structure of e.g., perovskite having a composition of formula (A is group IIa element of the periodic table; B is group IIIa element of the periodic table; C is an element selected from the groups Ib, IIb, IIIb and VIIIa elements of the periodic table; D is oxygen, E is fluorine; x is 0.1-0.9; y is 0.4-1.0; 1<=z<=5; w is 0.1-0.9).
