Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled superconducting material having high critical temperature of superconductivity and excellent thermal stability at a low cost, by pressing, baking and crushing a starting material composed of copper and each one or more elements selected from group IIIa elements and group IIa elements of the periodic table, mixing a compound of a group VIIa element of the periodic table to the powder and again baking the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Fine powders of halides, oxides or carbonates of (A) one or more kinds of elements of group IIIa of the periodic table selected from Y, Gd, Yb, Eu, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu, Sc and other lanthanoids, (B) one or more kinds of elements of group IIa of the periodic table selected from Ra, Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg and Be and (C) Cu are weighed in respective prescribed amounts and mixed with each other. The obtained mixture is pressed, calcined in an oxidizing atmosphere at 500-1,100 deg.C, finely pulverized, added with (D) a prescribed amount of an element (or compound) (e.g. MnO2) of a group VIIa element of the periodic table, thoroughly mixed, pressed, baked at 500-1,100 deg.C and slowly cooled to obtain the titled material of formula (x=0.1-1.0; y=2.0-4.0; z=1.0-4.0; w=4.0-10.0; v=0.01-3.0; A is component A; B is component B; X is Mn, Tc or Re).
