PURPOSE:To secure a proper emission characteristic by linearly compensating preset value determined in advance so as to become optimum for a specific operating state according to a variation in atmospheric pressure at the time of open loop control in the specific operating state of an engine. CONSTITUTION:Each of fuel 5, 6 of a carburetor 3 set up in an intake manifold 2 of engine 1 is connected to an air-fuel ratio control valve 9 via each of air passages 81, 82. And, when a valve body position of this air-fuel ratio control valve 9 passes through a reference position, a reed switch 23 is selected, and this selected signal is inputted into an electronic control unit 20. And, each detected signal of an oxygen sensor and an atmospheric pressure sensor 29 or the like is inputted into this ECU 20. On the other hand, the air-fuel ratio control valve 9 is controlled by the ECU 20 via a pulse motor 13. In this case, at the time of open loop control in a specific operating state of the engine 1, a preset value is linearly compensated according to a state of atmospheric pressure.
