Abstract
PURPOSE: To fit cameras to optional members of a robot for use by providing a means for storing the identification codes of the members fitted with the cameras in response to the identification codes of the cameras and the calibration parameters between the coordinate systems of the cameras and the robot.
CONSTITUTION: When cameras 7A, 7B are fitted to fitting members (e.g. arms 11, 12, a link 13, a base 2, a ceiling), fitting member numbers and camera numbers are inputted to a robot controller 9 and stored in its memory. Calibration parameters between a camera coordinate system and a robot work coordinate system are calculated with the calibration calculating program in response to the fitting members, and the calculated results are stored in the memory. The coordinate system calibration parameters for the cameras 7A, 7B used for the robot work are read out from the memory, and the information picked up by the cameras 7A, 7 B is converted into the work coordinate system with the parameters.
