Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve a higher safety in case of a leak in a water expulsion pipe, by providing a fluid expulsion device allowed to supply a liquid thereto or discharge it therefrom through a fluid supply/discharge connection port. CONSTITUTION:A core is loaded wit a fuel assembly 2, after a lid is put on a nuclear reactor vessel 22, a primary coolant is pressurized up to about 157atm. and heated upto about 290 deg.C. a valve V2 is closed in a water expulsion system while a valve V1 is opened and an output of a nuclear reactor is zero. Then, the valve V1 is closed to discharge water in a water expulsion/injection tank 25 and in stead, the tank is filled with a water expulsion material to be pressurized upto about 157atm. Then, when the valve V2 is opened, a branch tube 24 connects to a blowdown line and a flushing occurs with a reduction in pressure so that water in a water expulsion pipe 14 flows out of the branch pipe 24. At the outflow of the water, as the valve V2 is closed while the valve V1 is opened, the water expulsion material in the water expulsion material injection tank 25 is injected into the water expulsion pipe 14. Under such a condition, when operation is started, the water expulsion pipe 14 is filled with the water expulsion material while water is discharged. During the operation, the valve V1 is opened to pressurize the water expulsion material injection tank 25 to the pressure the same as the primary coolant.
