Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate measurement regardless of greater radius of curvature in concave and convex surfaces, by substituting a backfocus distance and a specified moving distance of a spherical surface to be measured into a specified expression to determine the radius of curvature. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a convex surface, an object 29 to be measured is put on a carrier 26 to be moved and a backfocus distance L to a luminous flux converging point P3 from a lens surface 24a is read with a length measuring device 30 to be stored into a memory means 31. A moving distance S is calculated between a position CP1 where a spherical surface 29a is at the point P3 and a position CP2 where a converging point P4 in reflection back is on the lens surface 24a. The distances L and S are substituted into the following expression of r=2/[1/S-1/(L-S)] to determine the radius of curvature (r) and in the case of a convex surface, the radius of curvature is also determined in the same way. This enables highly accurate measurement of curvature regardless of greater radius of curvature of the concave surface and the convex surface.
