Abstract

PURPOSE: To not only effectively cool a magnetic coil and hammerbank but also form an independent magnetic circuit as well as to reduce the leakage flux by mounting a permanent magnet between a pair of magnetic pole pieces for a magnetic actuator which drives a hammerbank having an inlet to introduce pressurized air in a chamber. CONSTITUTION: Sixty six (66) hammersprings 116 are separately mounted on a hammerbank 18 to the elongated direction in row. A magnetic coil for magnetic hammer actuator contained in the hammerbank 18 is cooled by a pressurized air fed by a blower 24. Each hammerspring 116 is generally held in a retreat position, and thus, adsorbed to the top of magnetic pole pieces 126 and 128 by a permanent magnet 132. The permanent magnet 132 composes a magnetic circuit which passes the magnetic pole pieces 126 and 128, and the upper portion of the hammerspring 116 adjacent thereto. A dot printing impact chip 140 is mounted on the upper portion of each of hammersprings 116.
