PURPOSE:To attain high speed MTF correction by storing plural kinds of weighting arithmetic terms in advance in a storage device, reading a required term at the MTF correction and obtaining a picture data after MTF correction through the addition. CONSTITUTION:A product between sum of data of four corners of a 3X3 picture data matrix and a weighting coefficient P4 is stored in a ROM 41, a product between the sum of data in the left/right/middle and a weighting coefficient P2 is stored in a ROM 42, product between the sum of upper/lower/middle data and a weighting coefficient P3 is stored in a ROM 43 and product of Dx, y and a weight coefficient P1 is stored in a ROM 44. The ROMs 41-43 use signals from adders 31-33 as an address, the ROM 44 uses a picture data outputted from a data latch 25 as an address and the relevant data is outputted to an adder 34. Then the adder 34 adds each data and outputs the picture data Ex, y after MTF correction to a picture image forming device or the like.
