Abstract

PURPOSE:To display a real image of a three-dimensional substance or a three- dimensional scene without using much counting time or storage capacity even at the time of displaying a complexed three-dimensional substance by providing the titled device with a shape data working part, a rendering part, and so on. CONSTITUTION:Three-dimensional scene displaying data are read in a computer processing part 1 by a command from an input operation part 2 and a three- dimensional shape model or a three-dimensional approximate model is constituted by a shape data working part 6. Then, the shadow calculation, shadowing and 'false' rendering calculation of the three-dimensional scene are executed by a rendering part 7 by using data obtained by numerizing the physical restricting condition of the three-dimensional scene and the model outputted from the working part 6. Then, the rendering calculation of the three-dimensional model is executed based on the result of said false rendering calculation and the contents of the three-dimensional scene displaying data and the calculated result is converted into image data for allocating colors to respective picture elements on a display 5 through an image data forming part 8. Even when a complexed three-dimensional substance is used, a real three- dimensional image can be obtained by the less calculation time and storage capacity.
