Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a photoengraving apparatus by a scanner method which permits selective use depending upon need by providing two ways of readout methods from a frame memory. CONSTITUTION:The image of a selected one frame is stored in a frame memory 12. In the case of obtaining a frame image by reading out this, there are a method of obtaining this from frame signals and a method of obtaining field signals of even or odd numbers. Namely, in the case of the former, change-over switches 22-24 are changed over to the frame side, then the signals are read out in order of frame signals from the memory 12 and are stored in a 1H memory 31. In the case of the latter, the switches 22-24 are changed over to the field side, then the field signals of even or odd numbers are read out from the memory 12 and those between them are interpolated by the mean value on both sides and are stored in the 1H memory 31. After this, the signals are subjected to predetermined processing and are then supplied to a scanner 34. In this way, the two methods may be selectively used according to the contents of the images and other requirements.
