Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber, containing different cross-section shapes, mutually interfering reflected light and having suppressed metallic glass though with a smooth fiber surface, by dry spinning a spinning solution of an acrylonitrile based polymer under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A spinning solution consisting of a solution of an acrylonitrile based polymer containing >=94wt.% acrylonitrile in a solvent is dry spun. In the process, the spinning solution in 24-29wt.% concentration is used to keep the viscosity in a nozzle hole part at 70-105P and the spinning solution is discharged into a spinning stack through which hot air is led under condition so that the ratio of the hot air velocity Va(m/min) in the spinning stack to the discharge linear velocity D(m/min) of the spinning solution from the spinneret may satisfy the formula 2.8<=D/10.Va<=3.4 and spun to afford the aimed fiber.
