Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily obtain the titled fiber, having a cross-sectional shape with round protruding parts and excellent compatibility with natural fibers and suitable for clothing uses, by dry spinning an acrylonitrile based polymer using a special spinneret. CONSTITUTION:An acrylonitrile based polymer is dry spun through a spinneret having plural small hole groups of 3-5 circular or rectangular small holes with 0.03-0.70mm interval kept between the respective small holes arranged so as to provide 70-125 deg. angle (theta) between lines connecting the respective centers to the centers of the groups to afford the aimed fiber. Furthermore, the total hole area of the small hole groups is preferably 0.008-0.07mm<2>. A spinneret having small hole groups of a different number of the small holes is preferably used.
