Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the operating cost as well as to improve the contact efficiency of a polymer with a solvent, by combining a polymer introducing chamber, a solvent removing pipe, a melted polymer inlet, a solvent outlet, a melted polymer outlet and a solvent inlet. CONSTITUTION:A melted polymer to be purified is continuously introduced into a polymer introducing chamber 12 via a polymer inlet at the upper part of a hollow cylindrical vessel 5, and is allowed to flow down through polymer dispersing holes 8 to the lower part. On the other hand, a solvent is introduced from solvent dispersing nozzles 7 via a solvent inlet 2 at the lower part of the hollow cylindrical vessel 5, and a solvent introducing pipe 6, and comes into contact with the melted polymer while ascending in the hollow cylindrical vessel 5, whereby impurities in the melted polymer are extracted with the solvent and the solvent is removed through a solvent outlet 4 via a solvent removing pipe 9. The purified polymer is removed from a polymer outlet 3. It is preferred that the diameter of the polymer dispersing holes is reduced and the holes are provided as many as possible.
