PURPOSE:To shorten a printing data forming time to a large extent, by forming the address data of a pulse forming memory by synthesizing the count data corresponding to the order of a printing cycle and the gradation data read from a gradation data memory. CONSTITUTION:In the first printing cycle, an m-bit address data (b) is given to a gradation data memory 5 from an address counter 6 and the gradation data memory 5 outputs gradation data to a pulse forming memory 9. A gradation counter 8 already gives the m-bit count data corresponding to the first printing cycle to the pulse forming memory 9. The pulse forming memory 9 outputs a signal (d) to the address indicated by both data. The signal (d) outputted from the pulse forming memory 9 is transmitted to a shift register 4 by the clock signal (e) from a clock generating circuit 7. The address counter 6 is counted up by 1 at the falling time of the clock signal (a) from the clock generating circuit 7 and the data of the next address is sent to the gradation data memory 5.
