Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the reduction in acceleration shock and the improvement in acceleration feeling compatible by carrying out the ignition timing control at the time of acceleration from the fully closed condition of a throttle valve, and at the time of acceleration from the intermediate opening, by stopping the ignition timing control or reducing the correction quantities. CONSTITUTION:The operating condition of an engine is detected by a means A, and further on the basis of the detected engine operating condition, the basic ignition timing is determined by a means B. In addition, on the basis of the variation in the opening of a throttle valve, acceleration is judged by a means C, and further the time elapsed from the point when the start of acceleration has been detected is measured by a means D. On the other hand, the ignition timing is corrected by a first means E to the lag side until a first prescribed time elapses, and further the ignition timing is corrected by a second means F in such a direction as the variation in the engine speed is restrained until a second prescribed time elapses. And when the opening of the throttle valve is not in the fully closed condition before acceleration, respective correction quantities are reduced by a means G, or respective corrections are stopped.
