CONSTITUTION:A thyristor converter controller is composed of a forward- voltage detector 8 of each thyristor 1, AND circuits 10, 19, a microcomputer 12 and the like. Said microcomputer 12 is composed of input circuit 13, RAM circuit 14, ROM circuit 15 housing protection logical function programs, output circuit 16 and CPU circuit 17. Then, respective forward-voltage signals 1a-Na are compared with forward voltage neglect signals 1e-Ne from the microcomputer 12 by the AND circuit 19 before they are inputted to an OR circuit 9. Thus, when fault occurs, the microcomputer 12 detects said fault, compares the number of faults with a previously inputted given number, and neglects fault forward-voltage signals by forward-voltage neglect signals (e) when the number of faults is less than the given number.
