Abstract

PURPOSE: To save memory capacity by storing plural sentence patterns, which share some words, in network form and extracting the word series which is closest to an inputted sentence from standard patterns. CONSTITUTION: A speech is inputted from a microphone 10 and digitized by an A/D converter 20, and a CPU 30 performs arithmetic processing regarding speech recognition. A ROM 40 is stored with a control procedure for recognizing the input speech, node by node, and a ROM 50 is stored with various variables used for the arithmetic processing of the CPU 30 and information regarding the inputted speech. The RAM 50 is provided with a network table 51 and plural standard patterns as sentences are stored in the form of a network. Consequently, the word series which is closest to the inputted sentence is extracted from the standard patterns to save the memory capacity.
