Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify an input device and facilitate a cut-out of word as well as a voice output easy to be heard, by supplying a sentence in voices and the pauses given between words or syllables. CONSTITUTION:The operator 11 utters ''Kanji'' for instance toward a microphone 12 with every syllables. In this case, a pause is put between words or syllables. The output of mocrophone 12 is sent to the recognizer 13 to recognize each phoneme of input voice to then convert it into the kana (Japanese syllabary) imformation. Then the pause between words of syllables is converted into the pause information. At the same time, the recognizer 13 extracts the accent (change of frequency) of an input voice and codes the accent type with every word. The output supplied from the recognizer 13, i.e., the Kana letter information, the pause information and the accent type information are supplied to the information processor 14 are then stored in the data base 15. When a conversion is required into a sentence containing Kanji (Chinese character) and Kana letters, the Kana is converted into Kanji (Chine character) with use of a conversion dictionary.
