Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an ink composition capable of giving quickly setting prints during the cooling process after heating, by formulating a lipophilic and hydrophilic pigment, lipophilic synthetic resin varnish and lipophilic and hydrophilic solvent compatible at temperatures higher than normal temperature. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink composition can be obtained by formulating (A) a lipophilic and hydrophilic pigment, (B) a lipophilic synthetic resin varnish (e.g. oil-modified alkyd resin), (C) a lipophilic and hydrophilic solvent which is little compatible at normal temperature, but becomes compatible at temperatures higher than normal temperature (e.g. a mixed solvent made up of a petroleum-based saturated hydrocarbon with boiling point of 95-300 deg.C and an ethylene glycol ether with boiling point of 135-256 deg.C).
