PURPOSE:To manufacture magnesium battery with extra small wall thickness by forming a magnesium foil through processing of ingot produced by heated die type continuous casting method. CONSTITUTION:According to heated die type continuous casting method, a die is heated over the solidifying temp. of a casting metal, and cooling of casting metal is not made by draw heating of the die, but by contact of cooling material directly with the solidified ingot. The magnesium ingot thus prepared by the continuous casting method is rolled to manufacture magnesium foil. This yields magnesium foil easily with no cracks or pinholes or without solidification grain boundary. Thus a battery with extra small wall thickness having a magnesium neg. pole.
