The impairing blade 15 is brought into contact with the optical fiber by adding the tensile force on glass fiber 2, and bending stress is given by bending the base board 13, and the fiber 2 is mirror-cut. The fiber 2 is soaked and cleaned in a solution. Two coated optical fibers 2 are held by a clamp 16, and they are set in a V-groove 17, and after the alignment of a core axis is applied by a base board 18, welding connection is performed by discharging.
