Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic thin film having high saturation magnetic flux density and improved heat and corrosion resistance, by forming the magnetic thin film by a Fe-Al film consisting of Al and Fe. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic thin film is provided by a Fe-Al film consisting of 6.0-16.0 atomic % Al and the remainder of Fe. Such Fe-Al films are superposed alternately with other magnetic thin films or non-magnetic thin films. The Fe-Al film is formed uniformly by means of the ion beam sputtering. The Fe-Al film thus formed by the ion beam sputtering is subjected to a predetermined heat treatment for the purpose of improving coercive force thereof. Thereby, high saturation magnetic flux density can be obtained and, therefore, heat and corrosion resistance can be improved.
